Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide fresh products as ordered.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines; maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to store management.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report any equipment needing repair.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or theft.
