Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a friendly, customer-focused cashier to deliver fast, accurate service at the register and help shoppers throughout the store. You will greet customers, handle transactions, manage the POS system, follow cash-handling policies, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards while promoting a welcoming shopping experience.

You will work collaboratively with store teams and adapt to fluctuating customer flow and seasonal promotions.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required
• Effective communication skills required
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction) required

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
• Operate the POS system and handle various payment methods
• Follow company policy on cash handling, shortages/overages and loss prevention
• Adhere to guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Stay current with ads and promotions and maintain signage accuracy
• Adhere to food safety and safety procedures, report hazards or accidents
• Help keep the checkout area clean, organized and welcoming to customers
• Provide support and assistance to customers of all ages and needs
