Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Checker in Escondido, CA to deliver outstanding service and maintain a clean, safe store environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and assist with product inquiries to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system, handling multiple tender types, following loss-prevention measures and staying informed on current ads and promotions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets, engages and assists customers.
• Cashiers process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Handle various tenders: Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and loyalty offers.
• Understand POS system and follow company policy for refunds and promotions.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention procedures.
• Comply with guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions and maintenance needs.
• Create welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and store guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
