Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a busy store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise employees, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and assist with deposits.

This role includes stocking, cashiering, scheduling, safety meetings, and protecting company assets while maximizing profitability and reducing losses. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize the purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, display planning and rotation.
• Maintain inventory and manage damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure cash handling integrity, deposits, refunds, and store security; assist in Store Manager's absence.
