Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who will help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. The role supports the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

This role requires leadership in daily operations, scheduling, safety, and compliance, with responsibilities extending to inventory control and planogram

Qualifications

• Able to perform basic math and point-of-sale cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Help maintain accurate inventory and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cash handling integrity, refunds/overrides, and bank deposits.
• Assist store leadership in the manager's absence.
