Job summary

Owen Daniels in Sheffield seeks a Technical Project Engineer to own customer projects from drawings to on-site installations, ensuring safe, compliant outcomes. This permanent, customer-facing role combines technical leadership with practical design delivery and site support.

You will translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs, review contracts and site surveys, and produce design documentation while coordinating with teams and traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical or automation engineering.
• Experience turning customer and technical requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• UK driving license is required
• Good understanding of manufacturing, installation, testing, fault finding and safe working practices.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, identify risks and travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Turn customer requirements into practical designs ready for manufacture, installation and commissioning.
• Review contracts and site surveys to identify design gaps, constraints and potential risks.
• Produce design documentation, including layouts, electrical schematics, wiring schedules and specifications.
• Ensure designs meet relevant safety standards, legislation and customer requirements.
• Support design reviews and manage technical changes, decisions and approvals.
