Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Missouri is seeking a Team Leader to direct department associates in merchandising, inventory control, pricing, and customer service.

Under GSM/DM supervision, you will prepare task lists, maintain planograms, coach staff, and help recruit and train new hires while ensuring a positive, service‑oriented environment.

The role emphasizes delivering a legendary shopping experience, handling events, and continuously updating product knowledge to support informed buying decisions.

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
• Ability to read and analyze certain reports.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, associates, customers and the public.
• Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain relationships with coworkers, customers and Corporate staff.

Responsibilities

• Directs department associates to meet departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage and payroll goals.
• Provides daily direction to department associates.
• Prepares to-do / task lists and executes merchandising directives, including plan-o-grams.
• Assists GSM/DM in staffing with service-oriented associates; participates in interviewing and training; coordinates performance appraisals and scheduling.
• Coaches and motivates staff to promote positive customer relations and productive teamwork.
• Maintains high level of customer service and assists customers in buying decisions; promotes programs like CLUB Membership and In-Store Pick-up.
• Coordinates Special Events; maintains pricing and UPC integrity; ensures accurate inventory and proper display.
