Job summary

The 99 Store in California is seeking a friendly and motivated associate to provide first-line customer support. You will assist shoppers, answer questions, help locate merchandise, and aid during checkout, contributing to a positive shopping experience.

As part of the operations team, you will help with stocking, merchandising, and adherence to safety and store standards, while supporting the manager on duty with daily tasks and special assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Self-starter who can work independently
• Positive attitude and friendly customer interactions
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
• Proven ability to multi-task and meet shift goals
• Ability to lift 1–5 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs when unloading
• Ability to stand, bend and reach with dexterity
• Learn to use baler and pallet jack

Responsibilities

• Stocking and/or cash handling as needed
• Unload and sort merchandise on delivery
• Stock and display merchandise per company standards
• Follow merchandising guidelines and plan-o-grams
• Ensure all merchandise is priced accurately
• Process and return to stock all go-backs
• Repack merchandise for transfer to Distribution Center
• Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot
• Report any illegal activity to Store Management
• Follow all safety procedures
• Work independently with the daily to-do list
• Clean spills, floors, shelves, displays, bathrooms, etc.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Management or Supervisors
