Job summary

The 99 Store in Compton, CA is seeking a team member to deliver excellent customer service and support store operations. You will assist customers, help locate merchandise, and aid at checkout while also contributing to merchandising and safety across the store.

Typical responsibilities include stocking, order unloading, pricing accuracy, and maintaining clean aisles. The role requires physical endurance and readiness to perform various daily tasks with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Self-starter who can work independently and in a team.
• Positive attitude and ability to interact with customers and associates.
• Ability to understand instructions verbally and in writing.
• Proven ability to multi-task and meet shift goals.
• Ability to lift 1–5 lbs and up to 50 lbs when unloading trucks or moving boxes.
• Ability to stand, bend and reach with moderate manual dexterity.
• Willingness to learn to use a baler and pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Stocking and/or Cashier.
• Unload and sort merchandise upon delivery arrival.
• Stock and display merchandise according to merchandising standards.
• Follow merchandising guidelines and plan-o-grams.
• Ensure all merchandise is accurately priced.
• Process and return to stock all go-backs.
• Repack merchandise for transfers to Distribution Center.
• Break down cardboard and bale for disposal.
• Collect shopping carts from the parking lot.
• Report illegal activity to Store Management.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Work independently with the daily to-do list.
• Clean spills, floors, shelves, displays, bathrooms, etc.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Management or Supervisors.
