Job summary

Kroger is seeking a courteous cashier/bagger to create an outstanding customer experience at our Spokane location. You will greet customers, process transactions, and help them find products while maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

In this role, you will operate the POS system, manage multiple payment types, and follow procedures to prevent loss and ensure policy compliance. Prior experience in fast-paced retail is a plus.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Clear communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system, and handle tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to company policies on cash handling limits and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; assist customers with questions about products.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; support preventive maintenance.
• Provide excellent service to all customers, including minors and seniors; resolve issues professionally.
