Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies, operator of Fred Meyer in Spokane, WA, is seeking a part-time Bagger/Courtesy Clerk to create an outstanding customer experience at the check lane. You will greet customers, assist at the register, and perform cash handling and POS duties while upholding safety and store policies.

This role emphasizes friendly, efficient service, adherence to guidelines for restricted items, and contributing to a welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle various tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit/Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, loss prevention, and company policy.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and stay current with ads.
• Provide customer service and answer product questions to enhance the shopping experience.
