Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Seattle seeks a Data Scientist to join the Consumer Experience team. You will tackle large-scale data challenges, apply ML/AI and advanced analytics to improve customer experiences, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.

Reporting to the Science Lead, you will build production analytics, collaborate with product, engineering, and design, and contribute to Gen AI initiatives and data product development.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of data querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
• 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance
• 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers experience
• 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems experience
• 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content experience
• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

Responsibilities

• Apply statistical analysis, ML, and complex data mining techniques to deliver insights that shape the AWS customer experience.
• Build production-ready analytics solutions that support effective business decisions.
• Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to develop and launch data products.
• Contribute to the adoption of Gen AI and ML-based approaches across the data science practice, including building proof-of-concept AI-driven customer use cases.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bring new ideas — share approaches, tools, and methods that raise the bar for the team.
