Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Consumer Experience team. You will tackle large-scale data challenges and apply ML/AI and analytics to solve real customer problems.

Reporting to the Science Lead, you will build production analytics, partner with product, engineering, and design teams, and help translate insights into action. You will contribute to Gen AI initiatives across the data science practice.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of SQL, Python, or R/SAS/Matlab experience.
• 3+ years of ML/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques.
• 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers.
• 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems.
• Master's degree in STEM or related STEM experience.
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.

AWS is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Consumer Experience team. We're looking for someone who is curious about large-scale data challenges and motivated to apply ML/AI and advanced analytics to solve real customer problems.

Reporting to the Science Lead, this role supports the analytical capabilities of AWS by applying emerging technologies, contributing to data science best practices, and partnering with stakeholders to deepen understanding of the AWS customer experience.

The ideal candidate has experience working in complex data and analytics environments, with hands‑on skills in Machine Learning and advanced analytics techniques — preferably within cloud computing. You should be comfortable building models and equally comfortable explaining what they mean to a non-technical audience.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience
• 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
• 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
• 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers experience
• 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems experience
• 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content experience
• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application to reasoning and problem-solving
• Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
• Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
• Experience in defining and creating benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance
• Experience working on multi-team, cross‑disciplinary projectsExperience applying quantitative analysis to solve business problems and making data‑driven business decisions
• Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
