Job summary

Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County stores seek a Store Associate to support daily operations, assist customers, stock merchandise, and operate the cash register with accuracy and courtesy.

You will ensure clean, safe, and welcoming aisles, handle basic math, and assist with receiving merchandise. The role may involve cross-training for other tasks and occasional janitorial duties while upholding company procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
• Able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• The Store Associate assists customers.
• Stocks and rotates merchandise.
• Runs the cash register as assigned.
• Responsible for the accuracy of transactions when assigned to register and adherence to company check and credit card procedures.
• Report safety hazards and all accidents to Management immediately.
• Maintains the store in a clean, orderly, and safe manner, which may include daily floor mopping and related tasks as assigned.
• Assist in receiving new merchandise and processing incoming merchandise.
• Provide customer service in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.
• The Store Associate may be cross trained for other retail functions and required to perform assigned tasks to standards.
• Answer the telephone in a courteous manner.
• Attends general store meetings as assigned.
• Attends general departmental and safety meetings as required.
• Responsible for other duties as assigned.
