Job summary

Kroger is seeking team-oriented associates to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced store environment. You will assist customers, operate cash registers, answer product questions, and maintain a safe, clean department.

Knowledge of promotions and inventory will support smooth daily operations. You will help ensure accuracy in transactions, merchandising, and safety compliance while supporting department goals and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Retail experience (optional).
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Understand the store's layout and locate products quickly.
• Inform and educate department associates about current promotions.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Condition all products in assigned sections per policy.
• Perform cashier functions and processing at checkout.
• Follow merchandising, labor, safety, and loss prevention rules.
• Report safety risks or incidents and unsafe conditions to management.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
