Job summary

Kroger in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a friendly part-time cashier/bagger to join our team. You will greet customers, assist with product questions, and ensure a fast, accurate check-out experience at the lane.

You will operate the POS system, handle various payment methods, follow loss-prevention guidelines, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment. Customer focus and reliability are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, and other offers according to policy.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage guidelines and loss prevention.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow ad/promo updates.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; follow safety regulations.
• Assist with safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist with questions about products.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and honestly with customers and teammates.
