Job summary

Kroger is seeking a part-time Bagger/Courtesy Clerk in Tacoma, WA to create an outstanding customer experience at the checkout and throughout the store. You will greet customers, assist at the lane, and process transactions efficiently while following all policies and safety guidelines.

The role supports various payment types, adheres to restricted-item rules, and helps maintain a clean, welcoming store environment consistent with Kroger’s values and standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention, and safety policies.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Maintain awareness of pricing and promotions for the store.
