Job summary

Kroger is hiring a part-time cashier at our Goshen, IN location. You will greet customers, operate the POS system, process transactions, and maintain a safe, clean environment. You’ll follow policies on cash handling, discounts, and restricted items, while providing excellent service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred. Duties include staying informed about weekly ads and promotions, assisting with store tasks, and supporting a welcoming

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow store policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; participate in preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Help customers feel welcome and respected by answering product questions.
