Job summary

Kroger in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a friendly cashier/ checker to provide an outstanding customer experience. You will greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane, and help maintain a safe, clean store environment.

You will use the POS system, handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and loyalty offers, while following company policies and food-safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them in a friendly, professional manner.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle tender types (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Follow company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sale items.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers.
