Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC seeks a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions, protect cash, and keep the store stocked and clean.

You should have a high school diploma or equivalent and retail service experience. The role requires lifting 30–50 lbs and standing/walking, plus strong customer service, organization, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks described in duties.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with staff and customers.
• Responsible for keeping the store clean, bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
