Experience and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  3. Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  4. Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  2. Experience in prospecting, building, and maintaining customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building out Greenfield territories.
  3. Experience with private, hybrid, or public cloud technology, migrating operating systems or Linux, including virtualization (e.g., VMware).
  4. Experience with data center consolidation, relocation, migration, or virtualization projects.
  5. Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen testing.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical teams to demonstrate Google Cloud solutions, develop cloud architectures, and troubleshoot technical issues. Your role involves understanding customer business and technical requirements, presenting solutions, and supporting the adoption of Google Cloud products.

Responsibilities
  1. Identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  2. Support technical relationships with customers through technology advocacy, bid responses, product briefings, proof-of-concept work, and collaboration with product management.
  3. Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud integrations in customer environments.
  4. Recommend enterprise architectures and integration strategies for successful solutions on Google Cloud.
  5. Lead prospecting, acquire new customers, and establish trust as a long-term technology advisor.
