Job summary

Shopko Optical in Rochester, MN is seeking a Full-time Optical Sales Associate to join our team. On-the-job training is provided and no prior experience is required, making this a great entry point into patient-focused eyewear care.

You will assist with selecting and dispensing eyewear, prep work for the optical lab, and basic medical billing tasks, while delivering friendly, professional service to every patient and maintaining frame inventory.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain license as required by state.
• To become Certified, teammate must complete Shopko OCE Certification requirements and calendar modules.
• Previous experience in an office and/or optical dispensing is preferred.
• Able to handle multiple customer interactions/phone calls at a time.
• Able to analyze prescriptions and assist with frame adjustments and lifestyle dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient and customer service in selection, ordering and dispensing of eyewear.
• Prepare work orders for Optical Lab and process medical billing information.
• Assist Optometrist with case histories and screenings.
• Assist patients with frame repairs and adjustments.
• Show patients how to insert, remove and care for contact lenses.
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally.
• Maintain frame inventory.
