Job summary

Houchens Ace Hardware is seeking a Retail Associate to engage customers, understand their needs, and help locate merchandise across departments. You will unload trucks, restock displays, and maintain clean, organized areas while delivering friendly service.

The role requires flexibility for varying shifts, ability to stand for long periods, and a commitment to teamwork and accurate point-of-sale transactions. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; training provided.

• Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired.
• Regular and prompt attendance is required; availability must be flexible including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise; maintain your assigned department, keep it clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Execute daily operational goals and priorities with a speed-focused attitude; move with urgency while paying attention to details.
• Cooperate with others and work well as part of a retail team; participate in daily huddle meetings and share improvement ideas.
• Remove promotional bin tags and price tags as required following sales events.
• Restock merchandise displays; watch end caps and side wings.
• Assist customers with simple complaints; escalate to management as needed.
• Promote the Ace Rewards program and assist customers with questions.
• Promote promotions and advertisements; tell customers about special sales.
• Wear radio and headset to communicate; respond to Customer Coordinator questions.
