Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a friendly Retail Associate to deliver great customer service, process donations, and help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

You will operate the POS system, manage cash, stock and price merchandise, and assist with donations while maintaining store organization and safety. Flexibility is required for evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service on the sales floor, at the donation area, and during all assigned store activities.
• Operate the Point-of-Sale system accurately, complete sales transactions, manage assigned cash drawer, and follow cash handling policies.
• Assist donors with donations, provide receipts, collect required donor information, and communicate on items not accepted.
• Sort, price, and prepare donated merchandise according to store goals and timelines.
• Stock, organize, and maintain the sales floor and storage areas to support a safe customer experience.
• Assist with receiving, loading, unloading, and moving donations or merchandise as assigned.
• Follow store policies regarding merchandise handling, pricing, and donor service.
