Job summary

Kroger in Richmond, VA is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to create outstanding customer experiences. You’ll greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately, and maintain a safe, clean environment that invites repeat visits.

You will handle POS activities, manage multiple tender types, follow policies, and stay informed on ads and promotions. The role requires honesty, integrity and teamwork in a fast-paced store setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers in the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle various tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Follow pricing procedures, stay updated with ads, and comply with food safety regulations.
