Food 4 Less in Chicago Heights, IL is hiring for a Cashier/Checker to deliver an outstanding customer experience at the front end. You will greet customers, assist with transactions, and help maintain a safe, clean store that supports repeat visits.

The role requires familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and following company policies on discounts, coupons, and restricted items. You will work in a fast-paced environment while upholding Kroger's core values of service and integrity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Maintain awareness of ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations.
• Ensure a welcoming environment for customers.
