Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Henrico, VA is hiring part-time Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean environment. You'll greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system while following company policies on cash, loyalty offers, and restricted items.

Ideal candidates have basic math skills and may have prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk. Excellent teamwork and accuracy are valued in this on-site role with growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the check lane, staying visible and engaged.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tender types per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and complete pricing discrepancy reports.
• Maintain awareness of ads and promotions; adhere to safety and food safety regulations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report to store management; participate in preventive maintenance.
• Provide a welcoming environment and help customers find products and answer questions.
