Job description

Job Title: Customer Advocate I

Join us at Health Care Service Corporation as a Customer Advocate I. This role involves working in a call center environment, assisting members and physicians by responding to inquiries promptly and accurately. Approximately 85% of the time will be spent on the phone, with the rest on research and other duties.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to telephone and written inquiries from members and physicians
  • Conduct research as needed
  • Maintain a professional and courteous communication style
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months of customer service experience or experience in an office environment
  • Data entry and typing skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to spend approximately 90% of scheduled time on the phone and sit for long periods
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9 months of customer service experience
  • Experience with various lines of business such as CDHP, Medicare, Wellness, and Disease Management
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
Compensation

$17.75 - $27.83 per hour, based on skills, experience, and location.
