Job summary

SurfThing in Annandale, Minnesota, is seeking a detail-oriented technician to assemble custom computers and prepare components for builds. You will maintain clean work areas, package systems for shipment, and collaborate with Support to implement fixes on production systems.

The role requires basic hardware knowledge, the ability to work under time constraints, and strong documentation skills. You will lift up to 50 lbs and work Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM in person.

Responsibilities

• Assemble custom computers according to order specifications.
• Prepare and organize parts for upcoming builds.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
• Package and ship completed systems to customers.
• Collaborate with Support to identify and implement fixes in Production.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with Windows OS builds.
• Deploy operating system images to computers.
• Record and track system details for documentation and quality control.
• Set up and repair computer hardware as needed.
