Job summary

Frontier Door and Cabinet is seeking a Custom Microvellum Engineer in Tacoma, WA. The role involves modifying standard designs into new custom products using Microvellum, AutoCAD, and CNC workflows.

You will prepare complete release packages and detailed drawings for manufacturing teams. The position requires 2+ years of Microvellum or equivalent AutoCAD cabinetry experience, strong reading of architectural drawings, and familiarity with CNC programming.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Microvellum experience, or equivalent AutoCAD and cabinetry/millwork experience required.
• Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings.
• CNC programming experience is a plus.
• Experience building custom products or libraries is a strong plus.
• Millwork or cabinetry/millwork shop experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and select starting product to modify into a new custom product.
• Create and modify custom products in Microvellum from established specifications.
• Assign materials with attention to thickness, sizes, and grain direction.
• Prepare release packages: cut lists, BOMs, and programming data.
• Produce nest drawings and CNC programs for the machine operator.
• Create 2D construction and shop drawings in AutoCAD meeting codes and customer needs.
