Job summary

Ameriscan Designs in Illinois is seeking a CAD Designer to create shop drawings and program products for manufacturing. You will read architectural drawings and produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Microvellum, collaborating with project managers and shop staff.

This role requires knowledge of cabinetry construction, AWI standards, and the ability to deliver precise submittals. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and 2+ years of related experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Read and understand architectural drawings.
• Create architectural submittal drawings.
• Draw from scratch, quality 2D and 3D drawings and models.
• Demonstrate understanding of cabinetry construction and terminology.
• Follow complex directions and incorporate redline revisions into shop drawing submittals.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience with Microvellum, AutoCAD drafting, architectural millwork drafting.
• Knowledge of woodworking standards and AWI standards.

Responsibilities

• Create shop drawings (AutoCAD/Microvellum) to submit to customer (GC & Architect).
• Program products to be manufactured by shop employees.
• Read and understand architectural drawings and draw accurately.
• Communicate work details clearly to project managers and team.
• Follow safety protocols and company standards.
