Job summary

FastTrack Staffing seeks a skilled Custom Fabricator in Michigan to turn client specifications into finished metal parts and assemblies. You will operate metalworking and CNC equipment, read engineering drawings, and ensure part quality meets exact specs on time.

You’ll join a hands-on shop environment, stand for extended periods, and maintain safe work practices while fabricating ventilation components and related systems for varied projects.

Qualifications

• Must have custom weld fabrication experience with sheet metal and structural welding.
• Proficient MIG welding of mild steel (16 gauge to 1/2”).
• TIG/Stick welding experience a plus.
• Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications.
• Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong math skills relevant to fabrication.
• Must bring own tools and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate metalworking machines (shears, brakes, punches, drill presses) and CNC equipment to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering to fabricate ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, frames, piping, and related systems.
• Inspect product quality and ensure 100% conformance to specifications.
• Inspect finished products to verify measurements and tolerances.
