The position emphasizes hands-on design, not repetitive drafting, with opportunities to influence fabrication outcomes on site. Strong CAD skills and 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in metal fabrication design or structural drafting.
• Experience in metal fabrication and stair/rail detailing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for custom metal fabrication projects.
• Develop shop drawings, material call outs and cut lists for project coordinators.
• Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure design accuracy.
• Review and interpret client specifications, blueprints, and technical requirements.
• Perform design revisions and updates based on engineering feedback or field conditions.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, tolerances, and fabrication best practices.
• Support estimating and quoting processes with accurate material takeoffs.
