Job summary

River Valley Coop is seeking a Custom Applicator to apply pesticides and fertilizers at correct rates and to operate and maintain farm equipment. You will also handle bulk and packaged chemicals, track spray records, and assist with maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in agriculture or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL – Class A and hazmat endorsements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Apply pesticides and fertilizers at prescribed rates.
• Operate and maintain equipment and vehicles, including sprayers and spreaders.
• Mix, load, and apply pesticides/fertilizers; handle bulk and packaged chemicals.
• Maintain application/spray records and assist with inventory and repairs.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies; participate in cooperative meetings to improve skills.

As a Custom Applicator, you will be responsible for applying pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields. You will also be required to have a working knowledge of operating and maintaining all equipment and vehicles, including sprayers, elevators, spreaders, trucks, etc.What You'll Do:Apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fieldsOperate machinery and equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.Mix, load, and apply pesticides/fertilizersHandle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicalsPerform daily inspections, clean, and maintain equipmentMaintain application/spray records in AgLogicAssist in keeping all equipment and facilities in good order, including assisting the mechanic with major repairs, painting equipment and facilities, and performing other maintenance duties as directedAssist in the movement and accounting of inventoryObserve all OSHA, DOT, state, and federal safety regulations at all timesFollow housekeeping practices that keep the facilities neat and cleanAttend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledgeNote: This job description is not intended to be exhaustive.
