Job summary

River Valley Coop is seeking a Custom Applicator to apply pesticides and fertilizers across fields, operate tractors and related equipment, and maintain spray records. You will mix and load materials, inspect and service equipment, and help with inventory and facility upkeep.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain CDL – Class A, hazmat, tanker, and airbrake endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the fields.
• Operate machinery and equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements following safety guidelines.
• Mix, load, and apply pesticides/fertilizers.
• Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals.
• Perform daily inspections, clean, and maintain equipment.
• Maintain application/spray records in AgLogic.
• Assist in keeping equipment and facilities in good order and perform maintenance duties as directed.
• Assist in movement and accounting of inventory.
• Observe OSHA, DOT, state, and federal safety regulations at all times.
• Attend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledge.

## DescriptionAs a Custom Applicator, you will be responsible for applying pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields. You will also be required to have a working knowledge of operating and maintaining all equipment and vehicles, including sprayers, elevators, spreaders, trucks, etc.**What You'll Do:*** Apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields* Operate machinery and equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.* Mix, load, and apply pesticides/fertilizers* Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals* Perform daily inspections, clean, and maintain equipment* Maintain application/spray records in AgLogic* Assist in keeping all equipment and facilities in good order, including assisting the mechanic with major repairs, painting equipment and facilities, and performing other maintenance duties as directed* Assist in the movement and accounting of inventory* Observe all OSHA, DOT, state, and federal safety regulations at all times* Follow housekeeping practices that keep the facilities neat and clean* Attend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledge**Note**: This job description is not intended to be exhaustive.
