Job summary

River Valley Coop in Stanwood, IA is seeking a Custom Applicator to apply pesticides and fertilizers at recommended rates and maintain field equipment. You will operate tractors and sprayers, mix and load chemicals, keep spray records, and assist with inventory, safety, and maintenance tasks across facilities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain CDL – Class A; hazmat, tanker and airbrake

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in agriculture or related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain CDL – Class A.
• Ability to obtain hazmat, tanker, and airbrake endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields.
• Operate machinery and equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
• Mix, load, and apply pesticides/fertilizers.
• Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals.
• Perform daily inspections, clean, and maintain equipment.
• Maintain application/spray records in AgLogic.
• Assist in keeping equipment and facilities in good order and performing maintenance duties as directed.
• Assist in inventory movement and accounting.
• Observe safety regulations at all times.
• Attend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledge.

Job Details: Job Location: Stanwood - Stanwood, IA 52337, Position Type: Full-Time, Job Shift: Day Shift, Job Category: Agriculture , As a Custom Applicator, you will be responsible for applying pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields. You will also be required to have a working knowledge of operating and maintaining all equipment and vehicles, including sprayers, elevators, spreaders, trucks, etc.

What You'll Do

• Apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields
• Operate machinery and equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm implements, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
• Mix, load, and apply pesticides/fertilizers
• Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals
• Perform daily inspections, clean, and maintain equipment
• Maintain application/spray records in AgLogic
• Assist in keeping all equipment and facilities in good order, including assisting the mechanic with major repairs, painting equipment and facilities, and performing other maintenance duties as directed
• Assist in the movement and accounting of inventory
• Observe all OSHA, DOT, state, and federal safety regulations at all times
• Follow housekeeping practices that keep the facilities neat and clean
• Attend cooperative meetings and work to improve personal skills and knowledge
