University of Washington Bothell currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Full Time Custodian Supervisor 2 (E S WFSE Cust Supv)(Nights)

This individual will interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action, supervise staff, train subordinates, and perform administrative responsibilities such as recommending budget levels for supplies and equipment, staffing levels, staff training requirements, and department policies and procedures.

Custodian Supervisor 2 Nights is responsible for overseeing the Custodian Supervisor 1 Nights, and in their absence, directly supervising all operations (including all staff that directly report to the Custodian Supervisor 1 Nights) would be appropriate.

The Custodian Supervisor 2 Nights would also be responsible for directly supervising all operations and staff that normally report directly to the Custodian Supervisor 2 Days in their absence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine staffing needs for buildings; oversee activities in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and machinery.
  • Recommend projected needs for personnel, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain established custodial standards of cleanliness by inspection of assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Oversee performance of special cleaning projects.
  • Identify, report, and take corrective action to resolve custodial problems; report and act upon building security, maintenance, and potential safety hazards.
  • Train new staff that has been hired into Housekeeping departments.
  • Will oversee all yearly LMS training and compliance training, for all 3 shifts to ensure that all mandatory trainings have been completed.
  • Identify report and take corrective action to resolve potential safety hazards.
  • Analyze all concerns and evaluate to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Be proactive on new technology available to generate lower costs and reduce workloads.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental training for employees.
  • Assist in maintaining budget control for labor and materials.
  • Coordinate provision of custodial services with other departments.
  • Prepare a variety of reports such as analyses of custodial workloads, service requirements, and employee job performance.
  • Perform related duties as required.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Three years of experience in custodial or general maintenance work, including two years of experience as a Custodian Supervisor I OR equivalent education/experience.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work with a diverse constituency.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English; both written and verbal.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Ability to secure valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certificate within six months of hire.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or G.E.D or equivalent certified education level.
  • Experience using email, electronic calendaring, and electronic work order systems.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Variable work shift.
