Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, and mop floors (wet and dry).
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
• Remove debris from entrances and surrounding grounds.
• Set up and break down furniture for school events.
• Perform periodic floor care and carpet maintenance.
• Porter duties, including moving boxes and supplies.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic custodian to perform general cleaning and floor care at an educational facility in Nashville, TN, in the vicinity of Foster Lane and Murfreesboro Pike. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting the daily operations of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, and mop floors (wet and dry).
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
• Remove debris from building entrances and surrounding grounds.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and furniture for school events.
• Perform periodic floor care and carpet maintenance during school breaks.
• Perform porter duties, including moving boxes, furniture, and supplies, and completing other assigned tasks as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures, cleaning standards, and quality expectations.

Work Schedule

• 40+ hours per week.
• Monday–Friday, 4:00 p.m.- 12:30 am (including the 30-minute unpaid meal break)
• Occasional opportunities for additional hours, including evening and weekend work, may be available to support special events throughout the year.
• Must successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check required for school employment
• Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting to 50 pounds, pushing, and pulling
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to excellent customer service
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic smartphone or computer skills to record work hours accurately
• Ability to work in a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free environment

Compensation

• $17.00 per hour
