Job summary

Woodland School is seeking a Part-time Custodian to perform cleaning of the school building and classrooms. Responsibilities include daily cleaning of facilities, bathrooms, classrooms and lounge areas, and maintaining supplies inventory.

The role requires a positive attitude, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and good communication with the Head of Maintenance. Pre-employment screening is required; high school diploma or GED preferred. Hours average 20 per week, with possible summer hours.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Positive, “can-do” attitude.
• Pre-employment Screening: Applicants who receive a conditional offer of employment for thisposition will be required to successfully complete a criminal background and fingerprint check.
• Preferred: Previous experience providing cleaning, janitorial in commercial orresidential applications.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• The ability to read and apply documents such as safety rules, operating, and cleaning, maintenanceinstructions and procedure manuals.
• The ability to “think outside the box” as well as the ability to solve practical problems and dealwith a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to work with the Head of Maintenance to prioritize, address and resolve issues as they arise.
• Ability to communicate effectively at a level of proficiency that permits quality cleaningperformance.
• Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
• Possess good habits, character, and attendance record.
• Be neat in appearance.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with students, staff, supervisor,and co-workers.
• Possess a willingness to learn new job skills and techniques.

Job Type: Part-time

• Averaging 20 hours per week Monday-Friday throughout the school year calendar withpossible additional summer hours available. Flexible non-school hours to fit your availability (3pm - 6am).
• Pay varies with experience
