Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets daily and sharpen pencils as needed.
• Clean all chalkboards and dry‑erase boards daily.
• Dust window sills, countertops, and other surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Move furniture for cleaning as needed and return it neatly.
• Clean doors, walls, windows, and attached hardware daily.
• Remove graffiti as needed.
• Clean and disinfect washroom, locker room, and restroom fixtures.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Keep building premises safe and clean.
• Comply with local laws for storage and disposal of trash.
• Assume responsibility for building closure.
• Report damage to school property immediately.
• Move furniture or equipment as required.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
• Keep up with district energy savings programs.
• Shovel and/or dress walks and steps as assigned.
• Check all exit doors are set as required.
• Raise and lower the U.S. flag each school day.
• Perform lunch-related set-up and duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean all chalkboards and dry‑erase boards daily.
• Dust window sills, countertops, and other surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Move furniture for cleaning as needed and return it neatly.
• Clean doors, walls, windows, and attached hardware daily.
• Remove graffiti as needed.
• Clean and disinfect washroom, locker room, and restroom fixtures, including urinals and plumbing.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment and request replacements in advance.
• Keep building premises—including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, lawn areas, roof, and play areas—safe and clean.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
• Assume responsibility for building closure, ensuring all doors and windows are secured, lights are turned off (except those left on for security), and the premises is locked.
• Report immediately to the head custodian, assistant director, or building administrator(s) any damage to school property.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the head custodian, assistant director of buildings and grounds, or building principal.
• Keep up and comply with district energy‑savings programs.
• Shovel and/or dress walks and steps as appropriate or assigned.
• Check daily to ensure all exit doors are set as required by security policy and panic bolts work properly during occupation hours.
• Raise the U.S. flag at or before 8:00 a.m. on each school day and lower it at or after 3:30 p.m.
• Perform lunch‑related set‑up and duties when working the daytime shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• CUSTODIAL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Working Conditions

Hours: Hours will vary as needed during an AM shift (6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) and/or PM shift (2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.).

Wages: $17.89/hr
