City of Augusta is seeking a part-time Custodian to keep City facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. The role is 28 hours per week with a primary location at the Augusta Police Department and opportunities to cover other City buildings as needed.

You will perform routine custodial duties, minor maintenance, and general upkeep. Training occurs during normal business hours, with flexible scheduling after training, and the City provides a complete job description on its website.

Competenze

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• 1 year custodial/maintenance experience in a public or multi-use facility.
• Ability to pass an extensive criminal background check to access secure locations in the Police Department facility.

In this hands-on role, youll perform routine custodial duties, minor maintenance, and general facility upkeep. The primary work location is the Augusta Police Department at 7 Willow Street, with opportunities to provide custodial coverage and support at other City buildings as needed. Training will take place during normal business hours, with a flexible schedule available after the training period. Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and valid Drivers License required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in custodial or maintenance work, preferably in a public or multi-use facility.
• Candidates must have the ability to pass an extensive criminal background check to receive clearance to access secure employees-only locations within the Police Department facility.

Compensation & Benefits

• This is a Regular Part-Time, non-exempt hourly position.
• The pay range for Non Union Range 10 is $19.53 to $24.30 per hour.
• Actual rate of pay within the range will depend on experience, qualifications, and available budget.
• Employees are eligible for annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) as well as potential merit-based step increases.
• This position requires mandatory participation in MainePERS Plan AC (a defined benefit retirement plan); employees in this role do not contribute to Social Security.
• In addition to retirement benefits, this position earns paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays per year.
• Please note: As a part-time position, this role is not eligible for health, dental, vision, or other insurance benefits.
