Job summary

A leading company is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness in City facilities. Responsibilities include daily cleaning of hallways, bathrooms, and common areas, while ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. Qualifications

• Six months custodial experience preferred.
• Current TN/VA Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains assigned areas for sanitary City facilities.
• Sweeps/mops hallways and vacuums carpeted areas.
• Cleans toilets, sinks, and empties trash cans.

Job description

Cleans and maintains assigned areas to maintain presentable, sanitary and clean City facilities.

• Sweeps/mops hallways, stairs, and bathroom floors daily;
• Vacuums carpeted areas daily;
• Cleans/sanitizes toilets, urinals, sinks, and water fountains daily;
• Dusts/polishes blinds, tables and chairs;
• Replaces light bulbs;
• Empty trash cans and recycle bins;
• Washes windows;
• Removes ice from entrance sidewalks (ice melt) and removes snow;
• Open/close building for weekend events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment, procedures, and minor maintenance work;
• Knowledge of the proper and safe use of a variety of custodial supplies, equipment, and machines;
• Skill in operating wax stripper and high speed buffer.
• Skill in to working with strong cleaning solvents;
• Skill in following established safety standards and procedures;
• Skill in following basic custodial procedures;
• Skill in performing minor repairs and adjustment to building fixtures and equipment;
• Skill in following oral and written instructions;
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

High school graduate or equivalent preferred, and six months custodial experience. Current and valid TN/VA Driver’s License preferred or must be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
