Hope Network in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a dependable janitor to maintain clean and welcoming spaces. You will perform sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and furniture care while following safety guidelines. Physical work is required, including lifting and moving equipment. Prior custodial experience is helpful but not required; a background check is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Ability to successfully complete applicable background checks.
• Willingness and desire to learn new skills, procedures, and cleaning techniques.
• Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with employees, visitors, and the public.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to follow established procedures and instructions.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum building floors to maintain clean environments.
• Gather and empty trash and recycling.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.
• Dust and clean furniture, walls, machines, equipment, and surfaces.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass partitions.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to safety procedures.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as needed.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as assigned.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals to prevent damage.
