This position is responsible for the general cleanliness of the facility.

Job Summary

1. Cleans assigned areas of the facility including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
2. Performs trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitation duties regularly
3. Assists with snow removal from walkways and unplowed areas; uses sand around walkways for safety
4. Sets up for internal and external groups using facilities
5. Opens and closes the building as necessary
6. Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility
7. Recommends maintenance issues outside of general knowledge to the maintenance director
8. Ensures the security of all building entrances and occupants inside
9. Conducts building checks during winter months outside of regular schedule

Available Positions

Full-Time Evening Custodian

• 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities
• Monday-Wednesday: three 8-hour shifts between 4 pm and 6 am (schedule flexible)
• Thursday-Sunday: 16 hours, 4 pm Thursday to 6 am Monday (schedule flexible)

Part-Time Custodian

• Up to 29 hours per week
• Monday-Wednesday: three 8-hour shifts between 4 pm and 6 am (schedule flexible)
• Thursday-Sunday: 16 hours, 4 pm Thursday to 6 am Monday (schedule flexible)

Weekend Custodian

• Up to 40 hours per week
• Thursday-Sunday: 16 hours, 4 pm Thursday to 6 am Monday (schedule flexible)

Qualifications & Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Experience

No experience required; custodial or housekeeping experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Visual and auditory acuity
• Hand and finger dexterity
• Regular walking and standing on tile or cement floors
• Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, and stooping
• Ability to climb ladders and work overhead
• Lifting and carrying 5-50 lbs. frequently; up to 50 lbs. on occasion for about 20 feet
• Ability to work under fluorescent lights
