An established municipality is seeking a dedicated Town/School Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of town buildings and facilities. This role involves performing custodial duties, basic maintenance, and grounds keeping, including snow removal. Schedule: 2nd shift, 2pm – 10:00 pm; ½ hour paid meal break
Bargaining Unit: AFSME Local 3720 - Buildings & Grounds Union
Starting Rate: $23.19 per hour
Location: Location varies
The Town/School Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, basic maintenance, and grounds keeping, including snow removal, and other related duties to ensure that the Town buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.
This position is under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and reports to the Lead Custodian for daily tasks/responsibilities.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years of experience in general custodial/building maintenance or a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Special Requirements: Valid Class D driver’s license required; Must successfully pass CORI and criminal history (fingerprint-based) background checks.
