Job description

Summary:

Cleans and maintains company facilities, including washrooms, meeting rooms, offices, carpets, flooring, furniture dusting, and restocking restrooms daily to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

1. Work as part of a team to carry out cleaning tasks to maintain standards.
2. Dust furniture, mop floors, finish and buff floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
3. Empty trash receptacles, bag trash for proper disposal, and use appropriate cleaning materials to sanitize, disinfect, and deodorize according to company standards.
4. Replenish supplies in washrooms, such as hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
5. Organize cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and equipment kept in storage.
6. Use proper signage to indicate wet flooring or other hazards.
7. Assist with snow removal activities as needed.
8. Change light bulbs when necessary.
9. Lock and unlock buildings, secure premises when not in use, check for unauthorized occupants, and turn off lights.
10. Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, using them as directed.
11. Maintain logs and records of cleaned areas and scheduled cleaning tasks.
12. Respond to work order requests for cleaning or plumbing emergencies.
13. Report repairs noticed during cleaning duties to the supervisor promptly.
14. Complete cleaning tasks assigned by the supervisor in a timely manner.
15. Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and leadership.
16. Follow cleaning routines and schedules, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and window washing.
17. Attend safety and related meetings.
18. Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for meetings, events, and conferences.
19. Assist with inventory control and security measures.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The following are the requirements:

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Additional education above the minimum requirement may substitute for experience on a year-to-year basis.
3. Attention to detail.
4. Experience in construction, carpentry, or plumbing preferred.
5. Good record-keeping, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Successful completion of a criminal background check, clearance from the Office of Children and Family Services, and a drug test.

Additional responsibilities include floating to other site locations as needed.
