Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking a Custodian II for the Harlingen, TX location. The role focuses on cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining safe living and working areas within the Rio Grande State Supported Living Center.

Responsibilities include operating floor care equipment, restocking supplies, and assisting in minor repairs. The position requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to train other custodians as needed.

• Knowledge of infection control principles and methods.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial functions timely and with high quality including sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning windows and light fixtures.
• Operates floor maintenance equipment such as strippers, buffers, vacuums and extractors.
• Requests and restocks supplies as necessary.
• Assists in conducting inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs.
• Assists in performing minor building and equipment repairs and installations.
• Trains other custodians as needed.
• Maintains inventory and equipment records.
