Job summary

University of Missouri - Columbia is seeking a Custodian II to maintain cleanliness and safety across university facilities. You will perform routine custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, restocking supplies, and setting up rooms for meetings.

Applicants should have basic reading/writing skills and physical ability to lift, climb, and work in varied temperatures. The role offers full-time hours with shift options.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions.
• One year of general maintenance and/or custodial experience preferred.
• Some knowledge of methods for cleaning equipment and buildings; mechanical ability for minor repair of equipment.
• On a daily basis, to bend, squat, reach, stretch, walk, stand, sit, grasp and twist repeatedly; climb stairs, stools and ladders; lift 25–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to clean and maintain university buildings.
• Sweep floors, dust furniture, clean windows, and replenish supplies.
• Clean restrooms, mop floors, and disinfect sinks.
• Prepare rooms for meetings by setting up chairs, tables and equipment.
• Report damages and safety issues to supervisor.
• May assist with snow removal and spreading ice melt near entrances.
