Job summary

University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking a Custodian II to perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance across campus facilities. The role involves cleaning rooms, floors, restrooms, and assisting with setup for meetings and events.

You will work 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday, with potential for light repairs and emergency support as needed. Union-eligible position offering comprehensive benefits and the usual campus supports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write.
• A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
• One year of general maintenance and/or custodial experience preferred.
• Some knowledge of cleaning equipment and building maintenance; mechanical ability for minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Care and cleaning of buildings (garages, offices, classrooms, restrooms).
• Clean floors, dust furniture, empty trash, windows; may shovel snow.
• Prepare rooms for meetings by setting up chairs, tables, equipment.
• May assist with simple fabrications for fixtures or devices.
• Provide support for emergency responses and large moves/events.
• Report damages and repair needs to appropriate staff.
