Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care's Environmental Services is hiring a Custodian to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff on campus in Iowa City.

The role requires cleaning duties, stocking supplies, using custodial equipment, and following directions with attention to detail. Work schedule is Monday–Friday 7:00 pm–1:30 am with rotating weekends and holidays; salary starts at $17.66 per hour plus generous benefits.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Stock supplies for cart and custodial area

Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies

Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors

Wall & ceiling washing

Furniture moves and room setups

Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties

Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.

We as a department are responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of over 2.8 million square feet of the hospital. The department provides support through 24/7 operations.
